How Loxley AI scans Uniswap V4 hooks on Robinhood Chain: hook permission analysis, bytecode pattern flags (transfer-blocking, asymmetric sell fees, balance manipulation), hook-aware quoting, and how verdicts gate auto-buy.
Uniswap V4 introduced hooks: custom contracts that pools attach to intercept swaps, liquidity changes and donations. Hooks are a legitimate design space — dynamic fees, TWAP orders, compliance gates. They are also the newest place to hide malicious behavior, because most scanners still analyze the token contract while the trap lives in the pool's hook. Loxley AI's safety scanner was built hook-first for Robinhood Chain.
beforeSwap and afterSwap on buy and sell paths gets full scrutiny — those callbacks can alter amounts or revert selectively.Quoting a hooked pool without simulating the hook's callbacks produces fantasy prices. Loxley quotes through simulation that includes hook behavior, so the member's displayed price reflects what the hook will actually do to the swap — not what a constant-product formula hopes. Differences between the naive quote and the hook-simulated quote are themselves a risk signal that feeds the verdict.
The scanner condenses its layers into rating bands used across the product: informational, caution, danger, critical. Ratings are cached for speed — with one absolute rule: degraded verdicts are never cached. If an RPC endpoint fails, a locker contract lookup times out, or a hook analysis cannot complete, that token's verdict is marked degraded and recomputed on next demand rather than served stale.
Robinhood Chain's liquidity center of gravity is Uniswap V4, which makes hooks the default environment rather than an exotic edge case. Multi-chain bots that bolt the chain on as "just another EVM" route hooked pools with V2 assumptions: mispriced quotes, missed traps, autobuys into pools whose hooks confiscate the exit. A native hook scanner is not a luxury feature here — it is table stakes for operating safely, and it is one of the clearest technical differences between Loxley AI and generalized retail bots.
No scanner catches everything. Novel hook patterns, off-chain coordination, and plain market risk all exist. The scanner raises the cost of scamming and removes the known-bad majority; it does not make trading safe. Not financial advice.
